I really miss the comforting, familiar grossness and unnecessary fance of the valley. I miss fifth battery, breakfast burgers and the smell of roasting coffee that makes me feel sick. I miss black bear lodge and it’s stream of familiar faces and suffocating heat. I miss Burlington and Superbowl and Kuan Yin. I miss the empty mall in the morning, bad four dollar breakfasts, walking home at three. Leaving a place makes you romanticise it, but I was never one to deny that Brisbane is special. I miss bridges, catching boats and GOMA.

Is there is nowhere in Melbourne where I can buy a whiskey sour and see lots of people I know and dance badly to sixties music while another bar tries to drown it all out with madonna or similar?

I am v pleased with my geographical location because IF I WANT TO I can stay in bed until one hour...

Rachel Hills is in my top-something favourite Rachels.

I am not poor. I don’t feel poor. I probably complain about being “poor” but let’s get real. I am very comfortable with my unnecessarily expensive sneakers, comfortable bed and lack of overseas trips. Since I’ve been an adult with a job I have always been able to pay rent, I have always been able to choose what I spent my money on. Even during my unemployment slog I was broke, but I was never poor.

But, just for a minute let’s talk about my six person family living on less than I make now for most of my life and POINT AND LAUGH at me living this life and complaining about it all the time.
